Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama ensures to normalize Cipinang river, East Jakarta. Normalization is needed to overcome flood around the river areas.

“East Jakarta should not be flooded. River normalization must run,” he said, Wednesday (4/27).
According to his visit to East Jakarta area today, residents around Cipinang river are agree to sell their land for this project.
Cipinang River Dike Construction Accelerated“No other solution except normalization,” he added.
Basuki explained flood in East Jakarta is similar with Manggarai sluice gate. Water flow in Cipinang river is collide with East Flood Canal (KBT). When the water rises up, sluice gate heading to river is not closed. That’s why flood occurs.
